Ghana has announced a new visa policy to boost tourism and make travel more convenient for visitors during the festive season.
From December 1, 2024, to January 15, 2025, travellers can enter Ghana without the need for pre-approval, enjoying a seamless Visa-on-arrival process.

Ghana loses historic forts along its coastline to climate change
Ghana is gradually losing its historic forts along the 550-kilometer coastline to intense tidal waves from the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to the loss of these forts, sereral coastal communities are also at risk of disappearing due to powerful tidal waves and other natural events. It is estimated that Ghana loses an average of two meters of coastline annually to coastal erosion, with some areas having experienced as much as 17 meters of losses in all, according to a study by the Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies.

Tourist arrivals increase to 600,000 in first half of 2024 — Dr. Amin Adam
Finance Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has announced that about US$1.8 billion was generated from tourism in the first half of 2024.
He stated that this is an increase from US$1.5 billion during the same period last year.
While delivering the 2024 mid-year budget review in Parliament in Accra on Tuesday, Dr Adam highlighted that tourist arrivals have risen from about 500,000 in 2023 to nearly 600,000 in the first half of 2024.

Virgin Atlantic is returning to Ghana, as the airline is set to relaunch its services between Accra and London Heathrow.
For the first time since 2013, daily flights will resume from Kotoka International Airport in May 2025 providing much needed competition and choice on this route.
